Living Well With Confidence Codesign Workshop

When:  May 28, 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00 (AEST)

Are you an older woman living in Queensland? Join us for an interactive online workshop and be part of shaping a new practical guide for older Queensland women.
Council on the Ageing (COTA) Queensland is working with The Queensland Country Women’s Association (QCWA) to develop a practical, easy to use guide to support older women across Queensland.
The guide is intended to support women to:
- Explore their options.
- Make informed decisions that feel right for them.
- Stay independent, connected and supported.
It will focus on real-life situations that many older women may experience, such as:
- Losing a partner or someone close.
- Worrying about rent or finances.
- Changes in health or mobility.
- Feeling isolated or disconnected.
The final resource will be free, available online and in print, and shared through QCWA, libraries and community organisations.

This guide is being co-designed with older women across Queensland. Your lived experience helps shape what is included, ensures the information is clear and respectful, and helps make the guide useful for women in different circumstances and locations. You do not need any special knowledge.

In this session, we’ll introduce the project, share early draft scenarios based on real-life situations, and walk through the proposed structure of the guide. You’ll have the opportunity to share your thoughts on what feels clear, useful and relevant, and help us refine the content so it truly reflects the needs and experiences of women across Queensland.

You can participate in a way that feels comfortable to you, and your feedback will play a key role in improving the final resource.

Register now to take part and help create a guide that is practical, accessible and meaningful.

This event is being run with the support of AAG.
